Greg Roy is a Maine native with over 16 years of Law Enforcement Experience. Greg holds a BS of Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. Greg currently leads specialty teams responsible for serving the State of Maine in unique and critical circumstances requiring specialized resources. Prior to this Greg supervised a specialized team responsible for responding to high risk and critical incidents throughout the State and had 12 years of Tactical Operations experience. Greg has also worked in several areas of private security including healthcare and luxury hotel settings as well as in safety roles at Maine summer camps.
Greg is an expert in the field of active shooter response. Greg has trained over 1000 police officers and first responders in Response to Active Shooter Incidents and over 1000 citizens employed by numerous organizations ranging from schools, religious organizations, financial institutions and summer camps.
Greg believes that solid security principles results from overlapping rings of security from site design, physical security and training and education. Rings Of Protection Inc. aims to address these principles.
Greg has used his experience, knowledge and teaching skills to develop training courses to deliver to all facets of Maine’s workforce.

Dave Coflesky is an emergency response professional. Dave has 14 years of law enforcement experience and has proven to be an expert in complex criminal investigations. Dave is currently a supervisor on a team tasked with responding to high risk and critical incidents throughout Maine. Dave also has a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Endicott College. Dave is an experienced trainer with years of involvement with public safety and private sector partners.
Being based out of the greater Portland area, Dave brings his knowledge and partnerships of Southern Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Scott Hamilton is a tenured law enforcement professional. Scott recently retired from a 32 year career in law enforcement with 28 years with the Maine State Police following 4 years with a municipal department. Scott had a diverse career with assignments in Patrol, Tactical Operations, lead defensive tactics instructor and finally his lengthy assignment to the Basic Law Enforcement Training Center where he assisted in training thousands of police officers in Maine.
Scott brings this unmatched wealth of knowledge and ability to teach to Rings of Protection.

Jake Hall has 14 years of law enforcement experience. 7 of those years were spent investigating drug crimes and organized crime. Jake is currently a supervisor on a regional tactical team and has been for 12 years. He is a lead trainer at his department specializing in firearms and tactics. Jake has a passion for teaching professionals and has been an instructor for over 12 years.
Jessica Shorey grew up in Scarborough, Maine and has a BS of Criminal Justice from Marist College with a focus in psychology. Over the last 20+ years, Jess has held various patrol, supervisory and specialty roles for multiple law enforcement agencies.
For the past 12+ years of her professional career, Jess has been a member of a crisis response team that responds to high risk and critical incidents. She is currently the team’s supervisor and focuses on crisis intervention & hostage negotiations. Jess also has a significant amount of experience with scene and logistics management.
Jess has years of experience instructing and developing training in multiple fields while currently specializing in topics relating to crisis response & intervention, de-escalation and proven communication strategies. She holds numerous certifications in this field and believes when appropriate, these strategies can aide in the resolution of many situations.
